Advancing Adolescent Health (A2H)
Bangladesh
We work with young people to ensure they can access quality health services.
Many young people in Bangladesh have a lack of knowledge and access to adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH) services, putting them at risk of unintended pregnancies and high maternal mortality.
As government facilities are not required to provide this type service to unmarried young people, the health of young people is put at risk. What are we doing?
The Advancing Adolescent Health (A2H) project was designed to improve ASRH and family planning knowledge, while increasing access to and use of related health services in Bangladesh.
Reaching youth and adolescents between the ages of with multi-level interventions, the project encouraged delayed marriage, family planning and strengthening adolescent-friendly ASRH in government, non-government and private sector health facilities.
At the provider level, A2H strengthened the engagement of key community gatekeepers, while increasing the demand for quality ASRH and family planning services.
