Fatima has been a member of Plan International USA’s Youth Advisory Board for about two years.

“I joined Plan’s Youth Advisory Board because I strongly believe in its mission to achieve children’s rights and equality,” she said. “After attending the Youth Leadership Academy in 2016, I fell in love with Plan’s work and wanted to get more involved with the organization and share my passion for girls’ empowerment and quality education. Most importantly, I joined the YAB in order to voice youths’ opinions and speak up for those who can’t.”

Fatima can’t live a day without her glasses, would want Scarlett Johansson or Emma Watson to play her in a movie, and if she had a day to herself she would stay home, bake cookies, and watch every Harry Potter movie.

She says one of her biggest goals is to live a “meaningful life.”

“Whether it is my job, career, or just everyday actions, I want it to have a purpose that extends farther than myself and is for the greater good,” she said.
