Hatem Mostafa
Vice President, Business Development and Operations,
Biscayne Hospitality
For 16 years, Hatem Mostafa was a senior executive at Hewlett Packard (HP), where he successfully managed multi-divisional, multi-billion dollar businesses. During his tenure at HP, Hatem had the opportunity to successfully create and ramp up four new business categories, each one growing to multi-billion dollar printing businesses. He also led the incubation and development of several new technologies to launch these categories, and was heavily involved in several significant business and organizational redesigns to pivot organizations from mature markets toward new and emerging markets.
Hatem retired from HP in 2015, and since then has been a co-owner of Biscayne Hospitality, a small custom furniture manufacturing company. He is vice president of business development and is also in charge of developing and optimizing companywide processes. The company continues to see impressive growth, with revenues tripling over the past five years.
Hatem has been involved with Plan International for more than 35 years, sponsoring several children and contributing to various Plan initiatives. In 2018, Hatem connected Plan International with Biscayne Hospitality Foundation, the social responsibility arm of Biscayne Hospitality. With Plan’s help, the company has been able to expand its already existing scholarship programs for Indonesian schoolchildren, as well as launch the G.I.R.L. project for Indonesian youth.
Hatem is a fitness fanatic and enjoys running and swimming outdoors in sunny San Diego. He also enjoys traveling with his wife (especially diving in remote tropical locations) and watching obscure foreign movies.
